LHVP recycling instructions
METAL, PLASTIC AND GLASS:
Include: Only household containers, food and beverage containers, aluminum disposable pans, wine, beverage, liquor and juice bottles, food jars, shampoo, and detergent bottles, etc.
Exclude: Plastic bags, plastic wrap, plastic toys, oil cans, empty paint cans, aerosols, light bulbs, plate glass mirrors, windows, plastic housewares, hangers, flower pots. Include these items with your regular garbage.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE RINSED CLEAN
EXCESS RECYCLABLES MAY BE PLACED IN A CLEAN, UNCOVERED CONTAINER
LARGE METAL ITEMS (stoves, refrigerators, etc.):
May be disposed of by appointment with the Highway Department.

NEWSPAPER AND CARDBOARD:
All material must be tied into
bundles no more than 12” high or put into PAPER grocery bags.
ALL CARGBOARD BOXES must be flattened and tied into bundles no longer
than 2 x 2 x 4 feet. Only clean
items will be accepted!!! DO NOT
USE PAPER BAGS.
Include: Telephone books, junk mail, school paper, clean scrap paper, gift boxes, cereal boxes (remove plastic liner) detergent, pasta and shoe boxes, etc., (remove plastic windows, if any, from boxes), unsoiled newspapers, magazines, junk mail, corrugated shipping boxes.
Exclude: Tissues, soiled paper, paper towels, milk, juice and egg cartons, all wax coated boxes, books, gift boxes, pizza boxes, etc. Include these items with your regular garbage.
Residents and/or contractors are responsible for removal of all construction debris, bathroom fixtures and all yard waste.
